Course Selection Cards and Scheduling Resources

School schedule

Cooper City High School is on a 4 x 4 A/B  Block Schedule. This means that each student will be taking four classes on an "A" day and four classes on a "B" day (alternating schedules of four classes every other day). Each period will be 90 minutes long.
Students in 8th-11th grade will be meeting with their counselors to review their courses from February through March. They will select 7 courses and be assigned a personalization class for a total of 8 classes. The personalization class will be a designated period of time in their day that provides them the opportunity to study, complete projects, review homework and notes, meet with their counselor, track their graduation progress, and research online resources. They will be able to access these resources using their personal devices with their own account.  It is our goal to ensure that each and every student will be on track for graduation by selecting their personalized schedule at the highest level.

These are courses that will be in the student's schedule if the first 7 courses are not all scheduled. Students will automatically be scheduled for their 8th course, Personalization.
NOTE: District recommendations for core classes are based on previous test scores, courses taken, and grades earned. Students must get recommendations (signatures) from teachers before this card is handed in. Students are placed into the appropriate Language Arts, Math, Science, & Social Studies courses based on these recommendations AND course progression guidelines.
