Dear Cooper City High School Families:

With great enthusiasm and heartfelt pride, I welcome you to the 2025–2026 school year at Cooper City High School! It is an incredible honor to join this vibrant and accomplished community as your new principal. As we stand on the threshold of a new academic year, I am filled with excitement for the journey ahead and the opportunity to work alongside our incredible students, dedicated staff, supportive families and the entire Cooper City community.

Cooper City High has long been recognized for its Tradition of Excellence, and I am committed to building upon that legacy. Our school’s outstanding academic performance, robust extracurricular offerings, and strong community partnerships are a testament to the hard work and passion of everyone who calls CCHS home. From our AICE Cambridge and Advanced Placement programs to our Career and Technical Education pathways, athletics, arts, and clubs—there is truly something here for every student to thrive and grow.

This year, our theme is “Rooted in Excellence, Rising with Purpose.” It reflects our commitment to honoring the strong foundation that has been laid while embracing innovation, inclusivity, and student empowerment. We will continue to challenge our students to reach new heights academically, socially, and emotionally, ensuring they are not only college and career ready but also compassionate, confident, and community-minded individuals.

I am especially proud to lead a school where relationships matter. At CCHS, we believe that every student deserves to be heard, seen and valued. Cooper City High School is dedicated to creating a safe and welcoming environment where all students can flourish. We will continue to foster a culture of high expectations and mutual respect.

At the heart of our mission is a commitment to the safety and well-being of every student and staff member. Creating a secure and nurturing environment remains a top priority. We will continue to work closely with district leadership, local law enforcement, and our school community to ensure that our campus remains a safe space where learning can flourish.

As we begin this new chapter together, I encourage our families to stay connected and involved. Whether through our PTSA, School Advisory Council, athletic events, or performances, your partnership is vital to our continued, collective success. Ms. Polatos-Quintero holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction at Barry University, reflecting her deep commitment to lifelong learning and professional growth. With a strong passion for education, Ms. Polatos-Quintero is dedicated to providing all students with meaningful and equitable learning opportunities that support their long-term academic and personal success. She remains firmly committed to fostering an environment where every student is empowered to reach their fullest potential.

Mr. Calero holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of South Carolina and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Florida Atlantic University. He began his teaching career in 2001 as a middle school science educator in Miami-Dade County. In 2006, he transitioned to Broward County, where he has since taught science at both the middle and high school levels. Mr. Calero brings a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to student achievement. He is honored to join the faculty at CCHS and looks forward to contributing to a successful and enriching academic year.

Ms. VanDusen earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Western Michigan University and began her career in education teaching middle school in Arizona. She later returned to Michigan, where she taught and coached at the high school level. After relocating to South Florida, Ms. VanDusen continued her work in education by teaching and providing math support at the elementary level. She also earned a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Florida Atlantic University. Passionate about student success, Ms. VanDusen is excited to return to the high school setting and is committed to ensuring that all students are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary for success beyond CCHS. She looks forward to working collaboratively with students, families, and staff to help prepare students for a successful future.

Ms. Daub is proud to serve as an Assistant Principal at Cooper City High School. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art Education from the University of Florida and a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Central Florida.

With 30 years of experience in education, Ms. Daub has dedicated her career to inspiring creativity and personal growth in students. She joined the Cooper City High School faculty in 2020 as an art instructor and has served in the Behavioral Support role for the past three years.

Passionate about fostering strong relationships with students, staff, and the community, Ms. Daub is committed to supporting student success both academically and personally. She looks forward to collaborating with families and guiding our scholars on their path to high school achievement, college readiness, and future career goals.
